Did you know that
most women in the United States spend more on hair care
and other cosmetic treatments per year than the average
cost of treating the veins?
Nearly three quarters of the population have varicose and/or
spider veins. Until recently, there was no non-surgical
means for the larger veins. With the advent of radiowave
sclerotherapy, most veins can now be completely and permanently
eliminated without surgery or injections. You too can experience
the benefits of cosmetic medicine and stop being part of
the great cover up with regard to ugly veins.
These veins arise as a result of leaky valves
that are usually hereditary. Although there is little you
can do to prevent them, there is a lot that can be done
to eliminate them. Since they have no useful purpose, the
only consequence of elimination is improved self image and
confidence. If they are eliminated, the same veins will
not recur. New vessels may arise but can easily be treated
during their formation with less treatment than the more
longstanding vessels.
Sclerotherapy is the introduction of a chemical
or physical agent into a vein to cause the inside of the
vein to be destroyed and allow complete obliteration of
the opening. Approximately
85-90% of all vessels can be treated successfully with sclerotherapy.
The
results of treatment are usually immediately visible with
radiowave sclerotherapy and within several weeks for injection
sclerotherapy. The
size of the area to be treated, number and type of veins,
as well as the density of veins are all factors relating
to the time for visible results.
If you or someone you know is considering
sclerotherapy as a method to end those unsightly varicose
and/or spider veins, feel free to contact Dr. Bartos for
